Development Recap #1 | The current state of the Development!

Hello Champions,

We would like to use this news to inform you about the latest changes at Astoria. There have been a lot of changes lately, but still it is a bit quiet on the part of our team. Here we want to explain why! First of all, let me tell you: Astoria is on its best way, we made great progress so far and we are looking forward to a new testing Phase for our chosen Alpha Testers!

General Informations

We moved to a new Machine. Our Network Manager OMGhixD moved our Realm to a newer and stronger Machine in Germany, Hessen. This is because we want to ensure the best connection and uptime for our Players, and that already in the Development Phase! We are convinced that a good operating System is one of the best steps, also for the Development.

Also, as many of you recently catched in our Announcements Channel on Discord, we moved from our old 2015 Core to a new custom AzerothCore branch. We made this decision because AzerothCore brings a much more stable and better gaming experience, as AzerothCore has implemented some important things that not only provide a smaller server delay but also a much better uptime due to crash fixes.

Class Balance

Here we unfortunately had to take a big step backwards. We couldn't move any of the existing balance from the old core to the new one, because the database structure as well as the structure of the DBC files from the old WaloriaCore were completely or partly different from those of AzerothCore. However, we are already working on some class changes regarding class balance and are making good progress so far.

New Classless System

Many may have noticed that too. At the time of the last phase of WaloriaCore, we used an Open Source Classless System, which was freely accessible for everyone. This not only prevented us from having full control over this system, but also allowed players to find and exploit any security holes by looking at the code. We quickly did something about it and rewrote the Classless System, but we were or are still not satisfied with it, so we are currently having a LUA AIO developer program a completely new Classless System from scratch. This system is currently about 50% finished, but is still deep in development. You will get more news about the Classless System when there are new features.

Raid Testing

The Head Staff Team (Alex & Lushen) took some time and tested the current raid scripts. We focused completely on TBC content and want to present our results here:

Karazhan - This Raid is the only one which still needs a lot of work. At the moment around 10/17 Bosses are working with partly or
completely working Scripts. An example of a currently non-functional boss would be Maiden of Virtue.
Magtheridon's Lair - The Raidboss as well as the Trash is completely scripted and working.
Gruul's Lair - The Raidboss as well as the Trash is completely scripted and working.
Serpentshrine Cavern - The Raid is currently untested.
The Eye - Currently 4/4 Bosses working, Trash as well as bosses Scripted.
Hyjal Summit - Currently 5/5 Bosses working, Trash as well as Bosses Scripted.
Black Temple - Currently 14/14 Bosses working, Trash as well as Bosses Scripted (Illidan Intro missing).
Sunnwell Plateau - Currently 8/8 Bosses working, Trash as well as Bosses Scripted.

MMAPS

We applied well scripted MMAPS, These update: Pet Movement, Creature Movement, Object Movearounds, Creature Evade Improvement, Blink as well as Charge Path correction, Creature Movement in Water as well as on elevations improved.

Core

High Risk System - Applied our High Risk System, slightly recoded it and fixed a bug where players also losed items when they die from drowning, fall damage etc.
Custom XP Rate System - We applied a new XP Rate System, now you can set your XP Rate anywhere and at any time with new custom Commands. (as example: .xp set
Transmog System - Readded Rochet2s Transmog System - Now Transmog is available again.
New Classless Builder (Preparations) - Prepared custom Currency for new Classless System: "Ability Essence", "Talent Essence" & "Purge Essence"
Anti Cheat - Applied a new Anticheat System which advances Warden Checks for Flying, Speed Hack, Walk on Water, Wall Climb, No Clip, Teleport (Client & Serverside) & Coordinate Faking.

Class Balance

Druid

Moonkin Form - Armor Contribution nerfed from 370% to 25%. Also reduced Damage reduction while stunned from 15% to 5%.
Improved Moonkin Form - Nerfed Spirit to Damage Convert from 10,20,30% to 1,2,3%
Eclipse: Lunar - Nerfed Starfire Crit Increase from +40% to +5%
Eclipse: Solar - Nerfed Wrath Crit Increase from +40% to +5%
Moonkin Aura - Nerfed Crit Increase from 5% to 1%
Empowered Moonkin Aura - Nerfed Crit Increase from 10% to 2%
Bear Form - Nerfed Armor Contribution from 180% to 35%, Nerfed Melee Attack Power from +30 to +10, Nerfed Stamina Increase from 25% to 10%. 
Dire Bear Form - Nerfed Armor Contribution from 370% to 50%, Nerfed Melee AP from +120 to +30, Nerfed Stamina Increase from 25% to 11%. 
Natures Majesty - Nerfed Critical Strike Chance Increase from 2,4% to 1,2%
Improved Moonfire - Nerfed Critical Strike Chance Increase from 5,10% to 1,2% 
Vengeance - Nerfed Critical Strike Damage Bonus from 20,40,60,80,100% to 5,10,15,20,25%
Lunar Guidance - Nerfed Intellect to SP convert from 4,8,12% to 1,2,3%
Moonfury - Nerfed Damage Increase from 3,6,10% to 1,2,4%
Balance of Power - Nerfed Hit Increase with all Spells from 2,4% to 1,2%
Wrath of Cenarius - Nerfed Starfire Increase from 4,8,12,16,20% to 1,2,3,4,5% and Wrath Increase from 2,4,6,8,10% to 1,2,3,4,5%
Eclipse - Nerfed by 50% Overall.
Earth and Moon - Nerfed by 50% Overall.
Nurturing Instinct - Nerfed Agility to Healing conversation from 35,70% to 5,10%, Nerfed Healing in Cat Form Increase from 10,20% to 2,4%.
Heart of the Wild - Nerfed Intellect Increase from 4,8,12,16,20% to 2,4,6,8,10% and Stamina Increase from 2,4,6,8,10% to 1,2,3,4,5%
Improved Mark of the Wild - Nerfed MoW Bonus from 20,40% to 5,10%
Tranquil Spirit - Nerfed Mana decrease from 2,4,6,8,10% to 1,2,3,4,5%
Improved Tree of Life - Nerfed by Overall 50%.
Master Shapeshifter - Nerfed by Overall 50%.
